So... after Anchorman, we (a friend of mine, and I... duh.. :)) went, had lunch, stopped by Hollywood video, looked around, and decided to pick up The Butterfly Effect and The Perfect Score.
I want to try and keep these reviews/blogs seperate.. So this will be a review of The Perfect Score (since we watched that one first), and then I will finish up with The Butterfly Effect in the next blog).
Now... we didn't go straight home.. we stopped by the mall, people watched for a bit, trying to find something todo...
So.. after some length of time not doing much, we went home and watched the Perfect Score...
The tag line on the dvd case is "The Breakfast Club meets Oceans Eleven" and, as much as I hate to admit it, really is kinda true. This is kind of unfortunate because, in a few ways, its a cheap knockoff/remake in some ways. Same general idea with a bunch of high schools stuck in one area... only difference really is in this case, they're trying to steal the S.A.T. scores.
For the most part, the movie was alright. Wasn't spectacular, but wasn't horrible either. The Perfect Score did contain parts that felt like Oceans Eleven and The Breakfast Club.. but honestly.. the originals were better. You can't remake The Breakfast Club, or try to copy it any way... its a classic that needs to be left alone.
As for the Oceans Eleven part.. eh.. Oceans Eleven wasn't the best movie ever either.. so I won't complain there... but.. aside from some basic steal from a couple high schoolers.. there are no similarities really.
I suppose if you're still young and in high school or within a few years of being out, you might enjoy it.. otherwise.. it probably isn't really worth it.
Regardless.. it was an ok/decent movie but don't hold your breathe. In other words... if you're young... go ahead and see it... otherwise.. its probably better to save the buck.
Take my word, or don't... its your buck either way.
