I am sitting in my car at a gas station writing in note pad, waiting for my mom
to show up with some water to cool my car down. I think my radiator has sprung
a leak, and so, my car has been overheating. I noticed this about a week ago
but, I was unsure of what the problem was exactly. From the radiator cap, it
looked like that could be the problem, but alas, it is still happening.
But in other news. It is approximately 6:25pm and PAX shut down at 6. The last
Omegathon game was some old Atari game that I can unfortunately not name. I do
have pictures of it though, so have no fear! Afterwards, I stood and waited to
hear my name be called out and win a BFG GeForce 7800GTXOC, but I failed.
So, I did not win a kick-ass new video card that would require me to upgrade my
motherboard, but, earlier, I got damn lucky. There was a big 4 screen setup in
the exhibition center. It looked like some RPG, but I wasn't sure, and didn't
really look at it until earlier today. It turns out, that it was Dungeon &
Dragons Online being previewed. They had 8 systems hooked up (2 teams of 4)
that got to play a mission. Test out the game, and if you won, you recieved an
invite into the beta. I did just that, and have my invite. W00t! The game looks
awesome. Great effects, great gameplay. Well.. I do have a couple complaints
about the gameplay, but its minor stuff from the few minutes I got to play. They
may not even be valid.
Beyond that, the final PA panel was awesome as well. Jamie asked Tycho to have
everyone in the room that had Bawls, to finish them up quick, and then set them
down on the ground. At the count of three, everyone was to knock them over, and
satisfy her dream of hearing 1000 bottles tip at once. It wasn't really a thousand,
unfortunately, but it was cool nontheless. Later on, some other guy (who is apparently
famous in the PAX world now due some stuff he did last year), asked a very similar
question, but instead of tipping Bawls, he wanted to hear everyone crack their
knuckles at once. And another dream was fulfilled.
All in all, it really was one hell of a weekend. I didn't get to do the scavenger
hunt unfortunately, but thats no huge loss really. I got to see everything I really
wanted, and got to see some cool stuff thats coming out and in-development. As well
as getting me really back into the coding mindset. I've been struggling for a while
to get focused. Who would have thought that a weekend dedicated to gamers and games
would get that spark going again. Thank you Gabe and Tycho. Thank you Penny Arcade.

radiator issues
Mon 08/29/05 by Scott (not verified)Just a note, if your car is properly overheating (read: boiling over), coolant will exit from the radiator cap, making it look like the source of the problem.
If you can stop before the car starts boiling over, you'll save the possibility of destroying the engine, plus you can check the fluid to see if its a leak or if your water pump/fan/lines are good or not
