So much work to do, so little time.

I'm avoiding doing real work that needs to get done. Its been a while since I've posted, and people start to bug me when my blog goes silent for too long.

I've added a twitter feed, which you can see to the right. I'll probably start using it with more gusto eventually, right now, I'm not sure what purpose its going to take.

In other news, Sophomore year at DigiPen is down right insane. I have a mostly working scheduler and beginnings of a kernel running on the Coldfire M52233 processor from freescale. We're working with the M52233 demo board. Its a nice little piece of hardware, and I'm very tempted to pick one up for myself and continue working with it. The coldfire is a 68k derivative, and is fun to play with and I definitely want to do more with it (as well as at atmel chip used in the arduino, which I plan on doing a bunch with over the summer as well).

As I progress through this degree, I'm happy I chose this path. Its hard work, and the degree structure really does need some work and retuning, but regardless, its well worth it. I don't think i would get quite the same diversity of required education from many other institutions.

And in other news, I have a kindle 2. I purchased it about a week before it was launched, and was upgraded without doing a damn thing. It arrived about 3 weeks ago now, on release day (24 Feb). Since then, I have probably spent another $30 or so on ebooks, possibly more. I've finished four books so far I believe, and a chunk of the way through the fifth.

The timing on getting a kindle probably wasn't the best, as it has likely impacted my school attention and performance a bit, but I don't regret it. The wireless access is awesome, and has proven to be incredibly valuable, even if the speed isn't that great. The e-ink display is very impressive, and I really want to look into things I can do with this technology myself. Amazon is now officially on my list of companies to look into for employment once I get closer to getting my shiny piece of paper.

I have some ideas for a few other topics I want to blather on about, and will do so sometime in the next couple weeks (or at least couple months). As it sits right now, I have a bunch of late homework to complete this weekend, and I hope to be able to get caught up by the week after next (Spring Break! Woo!).

With that, I am going to attempt to get back to work at getting my scheduler complete, and possibly read a bit more (currently Accelerando by Charles Stross).

Hmmmmm…an absorbing abstraction – needs proving recite quran. However, adorned & big-ticket shoes are absurd to alter abundant leg and base toners like step-ups, lunges, squats, RDLs and superior time on the StairMaster (etc) online recite quran. Personally, I’d rather stick with adequate superior cossack (have had acceptable acquaintance with New Balance cantankerous trainers) Holy Quran and do the contest I apperceive aftermath results.

Now I don't suppose there is that much surprising in there. Christianity has a fairly strong presence but that's to be expected asmost entries are probably from the US. What it mademe think about roxy luggage though is that the spiritual dreams and desires of people in general are not asdramatic and exotic as we might think. When we're working in ministry, we may tend to need everythign to be the latest, snazziest most alt., emergent piece of unique worship. We might think the Psalm has to be just right, the candles in the right places, the vestments perfect and co-ordinated, the worship band the best they can be, the actions in perfect unison, the drama well-timed travelpro luggage and audible etc etc etc. Yet the people want the inspiration to meditate, the pray more, to read the bible, to be more spiritual. Sometimes I wonder why it is I and so many others find a true spiritual home in Taize and I realise in many ways it's because it manages that great simplicity. The music is solidly Bible-based, melodic, yet not showy or "catchy". The community encourages you in a simple way to pray more, to be more spiritual not just at times in the church but in serving others in the simple things. The Bible is at the centre od so much that is done there, through the books the brothers write, burberry handbag through the art and music they create and the sessions they lead with young people. Now I know that this great simplicity has many complicated systems that keep it going - organising food for 6,000 young people three times a day doesn't just happen - and yet the simplicity is what counts. Why is it though that finding that simplicity can be so much more complicated?
